What is a tariff quota?

Tariff quotas are measures applied by competent state agencies to decide the quantity, volume, and value of exported goods at specific tax rates. Import tariff quotas are measures applied by competent State agencies to decide the quantity, volume, and value of imported goods at more preferential tax rates than the out-of-quota tax rates.

What is a tariff quota? What types of goods are applicable?
Tariff quotas in import and export of goods are measures applied on quantity, volume and value of goods by competent authorities.

Compared with the regulations on temporary import and export suspension, the authority to apply tariff quotas is different and more expanded. For tariff quota measures, the authority is given to the minister or head of the ministerial-level agency whose goods fall under their authority to decide whether to apply the measure or not. This regulation is considered appropriate and ensures timeliness and accuracy for each import and export item.
