Proship.vn and Vietnam Global Transport Joint Stock Company (VGT) are partnering to develop oversized and heavy cargo transport solutions and project cargo logistics. The model focuses on door-to-door services for wind power, solar power, thermal power, petrochemical, cement and infrastructure projects, as well as equipment shipments requiring transport beyond standard size or weight limits.
Depending on the scope of cooperation, solutions may include route surveys, transport engineering, coordination of road, inland waterway and sea transport, lifting and equipment installation to meet each project’s requirements. Every plan must be based on actual data on dimensions, weight, pickup and delivery locations, schedules, infrastructure conditions and safety requirements.

Partnership overview:
- Partners: Proship and Vietnam Global Transport Joint Stock Company (VGT).
- Core focus: Oversized and heavy cargo transport and project cargo logistics.
- Service model: Door-to-door solutions tailored to individual technical plans.
- Potential scope: Surveys, planning, multimodal transport, lifting and installation.
- Suitable project sectors: Energy, heavy industry, urban infrastructure and transit transport to Laos.
Why does oversized and heavy cargo require a specialized plan?
Oversized and heavy cargo typically exceeds the normal dimensional or weight capacity of vehicles and transport routes. Typical items include wind turbine blades and towers, transformers, boilers, reactor columns, gantry cranes and project equipment.
For this type of cargo, transport involves more than moving goods from point A to point B. The contractor must assess road and bridge load capacity, clearances, turning radii, terminals, yards and port conditions, while coordinating transport permits, lifting schedules, safety plans and the overall project schedule. A single bottleneck in the chain can directly affect the construction schedules of the project owner and EPC contractor.
The respective roles of Proship and VGT
Proship serves as the point of contact for inquiries, coordinates logistics advice and connects transport legs suited to business requirements. Drawing on its multimodal transport capabilities, Proship can integrate road, rail, sea and inland waterway/barge transport into the overall plan where the route and shipment characteristics allow.
VGT contributes technical expertise, operating teams and specialized project cargo equipment, as described in its company capabilities profile. The partnership aims to provide a single coordination point covering surveys, planning, quotations, execution and supervision. The final scope of work is confirmed based on surveys, contracts, technical requirements and actual operating conditions.

What does the door-to-door solution offer customers?
The solution is designed to reduce the number of coordination points during project cargo execution. Depending on the agreed scope, customers may receive the following services:
- Surveys of routes, lifting locations, terminals, yards and infrastructure conditions.
- Engineering of transport, securing, lifting and installation plans.
- Coordination of road, inland waterway, sea transport or other suitable transport legs.
- Coordination of transport permits, customs brokerage and related procedures within the service scope.
- Cargo handling, unpacking, packing, labeling, storage and execution supervision where included in the plan.
- Coordination of the construction or restoration of temporary works, such as bypass roads and temporary landing facilities, where approved in the technical plan.
Integrating these activities into a single plan helps project owners and EPC contractors better control schedules, work interfaces and safety risks. Cost and time efficiency depend on the actual conditions of each project; no single standard applies to all shipments.
